Spam Rice Balls are a delightful option that brings a unique twist to your dining table with savory Spam wrapped in comforting rice. Perfect for a quick snack or party platter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 can Spam (or any preferred brand)
  • 1 sheet of nori (seaweed), cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Optional: sesame seeds or furikake (Japanese rice seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Start by cooking the rice according to package instructions and let it cool slightly. Cut the Spam into small cubes.
  2. Cook the Spam: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Spam cubes until golden brown and crispy. Optionally add soy sauce during cooking.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the cooked rice with the cooked Spam and mix well. Ensure the mixture is cool enough to handle.
  4. Form the Rice Balls: Wet your hands to prevent sticking. Take a handful of the rice mixture and shape it into a ball or oval.
  5. Wrap with Nori: Use the strips of nori to wrap around the rice ball, securing them in place.

Notes

Use short-grain rice for best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the microwave or pan-fry for crispiness.
