A fun twist on the classic peanut brittle, combining sweetness with a spicy jalapeño kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup unsalted peanuts
  • 1-2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking sheet with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water, stirring gently until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (150°C).
  4. Carefully stir in the peanuts, jalapeños, salt, and butter.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
  6. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
  8. Store in an airtight container.

Use fresh jalapeños for best flavor and adjust according to your heat preference. Monitor the temperature closely for perfect texture.
