Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 1 small head green cabbage, shredded (about 6 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or low-sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 12 teaspoons brown sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Push beef to the side. Add a bit more oil if needed, then sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant (30 seconds).
  4. Add shredded cabbage and stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until it wilts but stays crisp.
  5. Stir sauce ingredients (soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil) into the pan. Toss everything until evenly coated and heated through.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve over rice or noodles.
