A fun twist on classic sloppy joes combining the rich flavors of a Philly cheesesteak into a quick and easy meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped onion and bell pepper over medium heat until soft, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in the provolone cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Serve the mixture on hamburger buns and enjoy your delicious sloppy joes!

Notes

For a vegetarian version, use lentils and mushrooms instead of ground beef. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
