  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup oats (for the crisp topping)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, flour, and sugar until combined. Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  3. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with a mix of cinnamon, brown sugar, and diced apples.
  4. Roll the dough tightly and cut it into even pieces.
  5. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
  6. Combine oats, nuts, brown sugar, and melted butter to create the topping. Sprinkle it over the baked rolls.

Notes
