Rich and fudgy chocolate brownies made in one bowl, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (3540 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch pan and line it with parchment.
  2. Whisk warm melted butter and sugar until glossy, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, then mix in vanilla until smooth.
  4. Sift in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder; fold gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using, then spread the batter in the pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until edges are set.
  7. Cool in the pan on a rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For fudgier brownies, skip baking powder and pull them when a toothpick shows moist crumbs. Use room-temp eggs for a shiny top.
