Crispy sweet potato patties that are golden on the outside and soft inside, served with a cool whipped feta and a sweet-spicy hot honey sriracha drizzle.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup flour or breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onion or chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (or cumin)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil for pan-frying
  • 1 cup feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice and zest
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, cilantro, or dill) for serving
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook sweet potatoes until tender (microwave, roast, or boil). Mash and cool.
  2. Mix mashed sweet potato with egg, flour, green onion, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form small patties (2-3 inches wide) and chill for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Blend feta, yogurt, lemon juice, and olive oil in a food processor until smooth for whipped feta.
  5. Stir honey, sriracha, vinegar, salt, and chili flakes for hot honey drizzle.
  6. Pan-fry in oil over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side until golden. (For baking: 425°F for 18-22 minutes.)
  7. Serve patties with whipped feta, drizzle hot honey sriracha, and garnish with herbs and lemon.

Notes

Great for meal prep. Store patties in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for a crispy texture.
